The season for delicious coffee has arrived!
Waking up a little early in the morning and having coffee at home is perfect for this time of year. It's really nice to take a walk or sit on the terrace and have a drink outside.
At this time of year, it's a little extravagant to sit on a bench outside Fuglen in the morning or evening and drink coffee in a daze. I tend to stay longer.
Well, this time I would like to introduce a hand drip recipe so that you can enjoy coffee at home during the best season for coffee lovers.
You may need a few more tools, but it's a very easy recipe, so please give it a try.
From the things to prepare first.
① 16g of coffee beans : This time I will brew Layo Tiraga from Ethiopia ② Paper filter
③ Dripper : Kalita wave dripper 155
④Coffee server : A mug cup is fine ⑤Scale: A kitchen scale is fine ⑥Timer : You can also use the timer function of your smartphone . Easy to use
Here is the recipe
・Hot water temperature: 92℃
・Coffee beans Layo Tiraga : 16g
・Grind: Slightly rough・Amount of hot water for steaming: 40ml
・Steam time: Up to 40 seconds from the time you start pouring・Amount of hot water: 250ml
・Extraction time: 2 minutes 5 seconds (completely falling)
・First, set the filter on the dripper, place it on the server, and then blanch it.
The blanching has two purposes: one is to warm the equipment before brewing, and the other is to remove the slight paper smell from the paper filter.
・Discard the hot water used for blanching, set the server and dripper on the scale, and put the coffee beans into the filter.
↑Gently shake the dripper to flatten the coffee grounds, then weigh the tare on the scale, set it to 0, and start pouring hot water.
・Pour 40ml of hot water for steaming all over the coffee grounds so that they are evenly wet. At this time, please pour hot water over the whole as quickly as possible. It is good to pour 40ml within about 10 seconds.
Stir gently with a spoon to help ensure all the coffee touches the hot water.
↑Wait until 40 seconds.
↑Pour hot water up to 80ml in a circular motion about the size of a 50 yen coin. Be careful not to pour hot water directly into the paper filter or make the circle too large.
↑While keeping the height of 80ml, pour hot water slowly into the center of the dripper. At this time, pour it as thinly and as low as possible. If you pour it too vigorously, the powder will move in the dripper and you will not be able to extract it well.
↑Let's stop pouring when hot water is poured up to 250ml
↑After making sure that the hot water has completely drained from the dripper, stop the timer.
↑The liquid extracted in the first half and the liquid in the second half have different concentrations, so mix them before pouring them into the cup. If you brew it directly in a mug, stir it in the same way before drinking.
Pour into a cup and voila!
Grind it a little coarsely and pour it slowly to extract it.
It has a gorgeous impression like herbal tea, and a refreshing flavor of lemon and yuzu. It had a slight peach-like sweetness and was very delicious.
I think everyone has a slightly different taste from coffee, but I would be happy if you could refer to the taste.
Also, if you find it difficult to brew coffee normally, please follow the above recipe for brewing time, hot water temperature, amount of coffee beans and hot water, etc. If you follow the recipe carefully, you will be surprised how easy and delicious it is to brew.
If you are used to it, try adjusting the temperature of the water and grind, and find your own delicious cup!
I would like to send you how to make iced coffee when the warm days are over and the hot days are increasing.
Have a nice coffee life!
