Fuglen Fukuoka opened on September 14th last year.
Today, we are already celebrating the 1st anniversary of our opening.
Thank you to everyone who visited Fuglen Fukuoka over the past year!
As this is our first time in Kyushu (our first store outside of the Kanto region), some staff members were transferred from Tokyo to Fukuoka to help set up the Fukuoka store.
To commemorate our 1st anniversary, we interviewed the staff who were involved in the launch of our Fukuoka store!
We would like you to take a look, not only for those who have already visited Fuglen Fukuoka, but also for those who would like to stop by 👀
Please enjoy!

--It's already the 1st anniversary since Fuglen Fukuoka opened!
Please tell us what you think now!
I would like to thank all the people who helped us launch the Fukuoka store, as well as the new Fukuoka store staff we met. We would like to thank the people in Fukuoka's coffee and bar industry and other restaurants who kindly welcomed us, as well as the customers who have visited Fuglen Fukuoka to this day.
I strongly feel that with everyone's support, we were able to safely reach our first anniversary.
I am truly grateful to all of you!
Thank you!
--I believe this was your first time helping set up a store.
Additionally, did you feel any pressure as it was your first store in Kyushu?
The Fukuoka store is Fuglen's first store in Kyushu. (First store opening outside of Kanto)
Of course, there was some pressure as it was my first time opening a store, but I was excited and excited about this challenging job!
And since the Fukuoka store is the first store to be located on the first floor of an office building, it was difficult to imagine what kind of people would use it and how it would be used before opening.
When we actually opened, office workers stopped by every time they took a break. Tourists come to eat breakfast from the beginning of the morning. We also feel that FUGLEN FUKUOKA has been used by a variety of people throughout the year in a variety of situations, such as students who come to have coffee before and after their language school classes.
When I see that we welcome customers every day and enjoy Fuglen in a variety of situations, I am honestly glad that we were able to open Fuglen here in Fukuoka!
--Are there any events at your store on September 14th (Thursday), your 1st anniversary?
This time, we will be offering a limited quantity set of filter coffee, espresso, and milk beverage made with rare Geisha coffee beans, only on that day!
This Geisha variety is coffee from Caballero, a Honduran producer familiar to Fuglen.
We also have a limited quantity of 100g coffee beans available.
We also prepared a 1st anniversary cocktail.
You can enjoy long cocktails and short cocktails made with Nordic spirits that are perfect for the September season.
We will also be decorating with traditional Norwegian sweets, Kransekaake, to welcome everyone on the day!
ーーMs. Tsutsumi, please tell us what you think is the charm of Fuglen Fukuoka store and how to enjoy it!
The store has a high ceiling and a very open feel, while still giving you the feel of a traditional Fuglen with its mid-century vintage design furniture and interior.
Like the main Oslo cafe, coffee beans are lined up in front of the counter.
One of my favorite points is that there is a menu board with the same design as Oslo on the wall.
The shop has a very open feel, so you can enjoy your coffee time by yourself.
Also, compared to other stores, there are more toasted sandwiches on the menu, so we highly recommend visiting for brunch with your family!
During bar time at night, the lights are dimmed, creating an atmosphere that is completely different from the daytime, when outside light shines through, and makes you forget that you are inside an office building.
I would be happy if you could come and enjoy a cocktail in the evening.
Of course, we also serve coffee at night!
The Fukuoka store is also a cafe bar that mainly serves coffee, but they also have a carefully selected drinks other than coffee.
The homemade kombucha made exclusively at the Fukuoka store and fermented with tea leaves from Yame is an addictive drink with a bright sour taste similar to Muscat and a slight effervescence.
We hope you can enjoy drinks and food freely depending on your mood that day!
ーーMs. Tsutsumi, I believe you were transferred from Tokyo* to launch the Fukuoka store. What is your impression of the coffee scene in Fukuoka?
*In Tokyo, worked at FUGLEN TOKYO (Tomigaya store) and FUGLEN COFFEE ROASTERS (Noborito store)
Fukuoka is home to some of the world's top baristas and roasters, and there are many wonderful coffee shops, so I feel that it is a city where people love coffee on a relatively daily basis.
In particular, the PARK×COFFEE events held at Hakata East Terrace in October last year and May this year attracted a large number of people, and seeing everyone enjoying the events made me realize how lively the coffee scene in Fukuoka is. I was surprised that it was.
In addition to people flocking to coffee shops from outside the prefecture, I also saw people lining up at brew bars run by coffee shops in Fukuoka, and I got the feeling that there are many shops that are loved by the people of Fukuoka.
I was fascinated by Fukuoka's coffee scene when I saw how many events were held where customers and the shop owners could enjoy coffee through coffee.
ーーWhat kind of things do you want Fugren Fukuoka store to focus on from now on?
Our strongest desire is for our customers to have a comfortable time at our store.
To that end, we baristas must continue to provide delicious coffee and cocktails.
I would like to continue to focus on creating a store where customers can enjoy the space and conversation freely.
The main cafe in Fuglen Oslo is also located in an office district, and I feel that it is similar to the Fukuoka store, which is located in an office building.
I would be happy if more people could spend their daily routines in Norway at our Fukuoka store, from coffee time in the morning before work to cocktails at night after work.
Fuglen's coffees are all fruit-flavored, and each coffee has a different character depending on its production area and farm.
The coffee beans sent from the roaster every week are truly fascinating.
I have a strong desire for people to drink and experience this kind of coffee more closely, so I would like to actively take on the challenge of holding external events!
--Finally, please give a message to your customers!
Over the past year, we have received a lot of support from many customers.
Once again, thank you so much!
In the future, we will do our best so that customers can enjoy the unique taste and aroma of coffee, but also to enjoy coffee three-dimensionally with all five senses, including the store's space, courteous service, and music, so that they can have a pleasant time. I will also try my best.
We will continue to welcome you with delicious coffee and food every day.
Thank you for your continued support of FUGLEN FUKUOKA for the second year!
